What are Akoya Pearls?

Pearls had come into existence at the time of the dinosaurs about 6000 years ago. Pearls are the solitary gemstones which don’t need wounding and all of them are totally unique. These gemstones are geographically created by a mussel which can be set up in fresh and saltwater.

Akoya pearls are set up in salt waters and are the hugely liked pearl for jewelry. Japanese’s pearl ranch specializes in Akoya pearls and they start farming these pearl in the year 1928. Nowadays Japanese are facing great competition with the Chinese after they started producing these pearls in 1990s.

The unprocessed Akoya pearl are generally of cream or golden yellow colors and are available in the different shapes and sizes including, drop, oval and round.

While purchasing a piece or a whole set of pearl jewelry you must be attentive that several other gemstones will resolve forever and these pearls will not resolve forever. An Akoya pearl or salt water pearls will resolve for 15 decades and afterward it goes dull.
